Two axial />– standard algorithm images from a contrasted CT of the cervical soft tissues. The first image was obtained at the level of the mandible., and the second image is through the low neck at the thoracic inlet.
Findings
The first image through the level of the mandible demonstrates a high density well circumscribed mass at the midline of the base of the tongue, or By the lingual adenoidal tissue.
The second image through the low neck just below the cricoid demonstrates absence of normal high density thyroid tissue lateral to the trachea.
