This course is designed for radiologists who find themselves challenged by the new practical issues of performing successful high-quality breast imaging in a changing medical environment.  This year\, we have redesigned the course to better meet every radiologist’s ongoing breast imaging needs:  In addition to 21 hours of didactic CME lectures by a world-class faculty\, the conference offers unique hands-on interactive workshops at the workstation. \nTHIS IS A GREAT WAY TO MEET YOUR THE INITIAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR MQSA\, FDA\, AND ACR ACCREDITATION IN MAMMOGRAPHY\, TOMOSYNTHESIS\, AND ABUS AND WORK WITH 5 DIFFERENT AI SYSTEMS AT THE SAME TIME! THIS YEAR\, WE ARE ADDING HANDS-ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO ALL MAMMOGRAPHY/TOMOSYNTHESIS ON EACH OF OVER 240 CASES AT THE WORKSTATION\, WITH CASES FROM FIVE AI VENDORS\, AND A BRAND NEW 50 CASE WORKSHOP IN CONTRAST ENHANCED MAMMOGRAPHY. \nAttendees have a CHOICE of attending the didactic track encompassing all breast imaging modalities\, and/or the interactive workshop tracks\, each taught by a world class faculty:\nWORKSHOP OF TOMOSYNTHESIS CASES WITH AI ON EACH CASE (300 unknown cases read by each attendee at the workstation) [up to 10 hours of CME]\nWHOLE BREAST ULTRASOUND WORKSHOP (4 Hour training course plus 4-hour prerequisite self-study prior to hands-on session) [up to 3 hours of CME] \nWORKSHOP of CONTRAST ENHANCED MAMMOGRAPY CASES (50 unknown cases read by the attendee at the workstation) \nBy doing so\, attendees can meet the 240 case initial recertification requirements in mammography under MQSA and meet the initial 8 hours of training required by FDA for interpretation of Tomosynthesis cases! Attendees can choose to attend only the didactic track OR can combine the didactic track with either or both of the interactive tracks! (In order to receive the 8-hour certification in tomosynthesis\, FDA requires 8 hours of prior training in digital mammography) Attendees can also choose to attend the interactive workstation-based Automated Whole Breast Ultrasound track. (This is a physician-only track.) \nThe extremely popular and successful hands-on workshops teaching stereotactic\, ultrasound- guided\, and MR needle biopsy techniques\, featuring the latest equipment from a wide spectrum of vendors\, will also again be offered and will be included as part of the didactic lecture track.  The Breast MRI workshop will not be offered this year.  They are currently being revised and enriched with new cases. \nSPECIAL NOTICE TO THOSE WISHING TO OBTAIN THE 8 HOURS OF TRAINING IN BREAST TOMOSYNTHESIS:  This training will include interpretation of 200 tomosynthesis cases on your own at the workstation\, and additional lecture material on tomosynthesis throughout the conference\, for a total of 8 hours. You will be expected to record the number of tomosynthesis cases you interpret\, and the amount of time spent interpreting these cases\, as that time will count toward the 8-hour initial total that is required by the FDA. \nEDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES\nBy the end of this course\, registrants will be able to:\n♦   Apply new and improved skills in perception to the interpretation of screening mammograms.\n♦   Perform a more comprehensive evaluation of screening-detected abnormalities\, including appropriate use of special mammographic views\, ultrasound\, MR\, MBI\, and CEM.\n♦   Appraise the current status of interventional breast procedures\, especially core biopsy.\n♦   Perform the techniques of stereotactic\, ultrasound\, and MR-guided core needle biopsy of the breast.\n♦   Delineate the expanding role of Breast MR in everyday practice of breast imaging\, including its role in screening high-risk patients\, and the new role of abbreviated breast MR.\n♦   Perform interpretation of up to 300 digital mammograms with tomosynthesis and AI at the workstation\, documented toward accreditation or re-accreditation in mammography under MQSA\n♦   Acquire up to 8 hours of Tomosynthesis interactive instruction\, documented toward fulfilling the 8 hours required by FDA for one to perform and interpret Tomosynthesis.\n♦   Appreciate the expanding roles of Contrast Enhanced Mammography\, and Molecular Breast Imaging in breast cancer screening.\n♦   Understand the ever-increasing role of ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE in breast imaging and interpret up to 300 digital tomosynthesis cases with AI on every case\, at the workstation.\n♦   Discern the burgeoning role of breast ultrasound as a screening and diagnostic tool.\n♦   Appreciate the expanding role of Whole Breast Ultrasound in breast cancer screening.\n♦   Perform interpretation of up to 100 Whole Breast Ultrasound cases at the workstation. \n♦   Perform interpretation of up to 50 Contrast Enhanced Mammography Cases at the workstation\, documented toward accreditation or re-accreditation in mammography under MQSA. \n  \nACCREDITATION\nThe International Institute for Continuing Medical Education\, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. \nDESIGNATION\nThe International Institute for Continuing Medical Education\, Inc.\, designates this live activity for a maximum of [acf field=”iicme_course_credits”] AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
