SUMMARY:American Society of Spine Radiology (ASSR) 2018 Annual Symposium
DESCRIPTION:A Letter from the President\,\nThe American Society of Spine Radiology is pleased to share its 2018 Annual Symposium Exhibitor Prospectus. The Program Committee has built upon the best elements of our prior meetings with even more innovations to #ASSR18 for this upcoming year. Our biggest change for #ASSR18 is the expanded meeting format of four and one-half days; our field has grown in so many ways that we could no longer accommodate our attendees’ programming desires within the previous format. Our program features three broad categories of scientific sessions: interventional\, diagnostic and joint. The joint sessions include topics of broad interest to all of those involved in the care of spine patients. The dedicated interventional and diagnostic sessions facilitate brainstorming and are designed to promote dynamic interaction between audience members and our internationally recognized faculty. Special keynote addresses are featured every day. \nOne of the core values of the ASSR remains the multidisciplinary nature of our meeting program.In addition to radiologists from multiple spine-related subspecialties\, the scientific sessions include oncologists\, spine surgeons\, palliative care and interventional pain specialists. As in the past\, we expect that our attendees will include many physicians from outside of the membership of the ASSR. Controversies\, hot topics\, exceptional faculty\, case-based presentations\, and embedded abstracts will keep audience members active and engaged during the scientific sessions. \nThe exhibitor area is located in between the scientific sessions and the Breakout Room\, maximizing flow to this area. We have carefully designed multiple elements (refreshment breaks/food service /video monitors showing the live presentations) to ensure that our attendees experience repeated and direct contact with you and your exhibits throughout the meeting. \nNon-CME workshops and Breakfast and Learns are included in Diamond\, Platinum and Gold Exhibit Level sponsorships. A-la-carte opportunities exist\, including cost-saving bundles for some of these options. We feature 20% discounts for first-time exhibitors at the Bronze and Silver Exhibit Levels. Barr\, MD\, FACR\, FSIR\, FSNIS\nPresident and Program Chair ASSR \n\nAbout the Symposium\nThe ASSR 2018 Annual Symposium\, #ASSR2018\, will provide a forum for presentation and discussion of new and important developments in spine radiology and spine interventions. Keynote addresses and topically organized focus sessions will concentrate on various aspects of diagnostic and interventional spine techniques. Nationally and internationally recognized experts will share their experiences through didactic lectures\, discussions and case-based reviews. Speakers and moderators are by design multidisciplinary including interventional\, musculoskeletal and neuroradiologists\, spine surgeons\, pain management physicians and oncologists. Scientific sessions will address the newest applications and techniques in spine imaging and intervention\, while electronic educational exhibits will help to reinforce and review new concepts. In addition\, the oral abstract sessions will present new and exciting investigations in spine research. Special sessions will target trainees and young investigators and clinical development. \nDiagnostic Spine Sessions will highlight the latest in advanced imaging across a wide variety of topics including infectious disease\, oncologic imaging/management\, etiology of pain generators\, spine trauma diffusion tensor imaging and MR neurography. \nInterventional Spine Sessions will give participants the opportunity to review and master basic and advanced spine interventional skills\, covering topics such as novel augmentation procedures\, epidural therapeutics\, advanced nerve blocks and tumor ablation techniques. There will be an in-depth update about the current technology and indications for spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulators\, pain pumps and regenerative cellular treatments. \nEconomics and Health Care Policy: Our meeting will feature a dedicated session on economics and health care policy specifically pertinent to spine specialists. The dedicated CME session will include presentations about billing and coding\, just culture\, MOC\, MACRA and potential futuristic spine health care models. \nMultidisciplinary Clinical Case Management Conference Moderators will lead panels of experts from multiple disciplines to present and discuss spine management dilemmas with regard to the role of diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive spine procedures. The sessions will illustrate best practice scenarios that highlight the outcomes and economic benefits of comprehensive multidisciplinary spine care. \nBreakfast & Learn and Lunch & Learn Sessions will complement the formal scientific program and will address specific technical advances in imaging and/or interventional procedures and products. \nInterventional Roundtable for Trainees and Aspiring Interventional Spine Physicians will provide a forum for attendees to interact with interventional experts and vendors in an informal non-CME setting\, to discuss best practices for starting and sustaining a successful spine intervention practice (attendance will be limited!). \nHands-on non-CME Spine Procedures Workshops (sponsored by vendors) will feature the latest technologies available from vendors. \n\nCALLING FOR ABSTRACTS\n\nWe are currently accepting abstracts. neoplastic\, traumatic\, and vascular conditions.\nDevelop greater understanding of the unique conditions that affect the spine and how imaging and image-guided intervention are used in their treatment.\nGain a better understanding of the controversies and limitations inherent to the diagnostic modalities and interventions used in the assessment and treatment of spinal diseases.\nUnderstand the interplay between surgical intervention\, oncology\, 
percutaneous therapy and diagnostic imaging in the clinical management of spinal disease.\n\nNo special educational preparation is required for this CME activity. \n\nTarget Audience\nThis CME activity is primarily intended and designed to educate radiologists\, neuroradiologists\, musculoskeletal radiologists\, interventional radiologists\, spine surgeons\, pain management and rehabilitation physicians\, anesthesiologists\, as well as fellows and residents in these specialties.
