SUMMARY:Mount Sinai Update: Brain\, Spine\, Neuroradiology\, and ENT Imaging
DESCRIPTION:Course Description\nThis course is designed for neuroradiologists\, general radiologists\, and clinicians who have an interest in imaging of the brain\, spine\, and head and neck. The case material shown will include a wide spectrum of the diseases that affect these areas. The specific utilization of CT\, MRI\, MRS\, perfusion-diffusion and permeability imaging in the investigation of these diseases will be discussed. In each section\, the imaging protocols\, anatomy\, pathology\, and the clinically relevant differential diagnoses will be reviewed. This course will improve the participant’s ability to analyze CT and MR images\, to offer a pertinent differential diagnosis\, and to be familiar with the newest technologies applied to these regions. \nThis year\, we will offer registrants a choice of two different Sunday Morning Programs.             \nOption A will present a broad range of interesting teaching cases for analysis and discussion to be held at the hotel lecture hall. \nOption B will be a Hands-on Workshop in Gross Anatomy & Pathology to be held at the Medical School. \n(Due to the extensive preparation required for this option\, option B will be held only if sufficient numbers of registrants sign up for this session by  SEPTEMBER 1\, 2017. \nEducational Objectives\nAt the completion of the course\, the participant should be able to: \n\nPresent the essential anatomy and imaging protocols necessary to arrive at a diagnosis of the diseases of the central nervous system and head and neck.\nRecognize both the common and uncommon CNS and ENT diseases.\nDevelop a differential diagnosis for each area that relates to the pertinent imaging and clinically relevant findings.\nReview the application of the newest imaging techniques to these areas.\nImprove the imaging skills of all of the course participants.\n\n Target Audience\n• Board certified general radiologists interested in neuroradiology and head and neck imaging.\n• Neuroradiologists\n• Radiology residents and Fellows-in-training\n• Practicing physicians in general neurology\, neurosurgery\, otolaryngology\, and related clinical subspecialties who desire to familiarize themselves with the current role of imaging.\n• Allied health care professionals who desire to have an update on recent imaging advances and the use of imaging as an aid to clinical patient management for diseases of the brain\, spine\, and head and neck. \nAccreditation\nThe International Institute for Continuing Medical Education\, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. \nDesignation\nThe International Institute for Continuing Medical Education\, Inc.\, designates this live activity for a maximum of [acf field=”iicme_course_credits”] AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. \n
