Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM) Training

Advancing Diagnostic Accuracy and Confidence in Breast Imaging

Course Description

Advancing Diagnostic Accuracy and Confidence in Breast Imaging

Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM) combines the high-resolution detail of full-field digital mammography with iodine-based contrast to highlight areas of neovascularity, offering a functional imaging alternative to MRI for breast cancer detection. This 1.25-hour live webinar provides an evidence-based overview of CEM principles, image interpretation, workflow integration, and clinical application to improve diagnostic accuracy and confidence in women’s health imaging. Participants will explore how CEM can enhance lesion conspicuity, support challenging diagnostic cases, and streamline patient care—particularly in women with dense breast tissue or inconclusive screening findings.

Instructional Objectives:

  • Explain the physics and clinical principles underlying contrast-enhanced mammography.
  • Identify patient selection criteria and appropriate indications for CEM.
  • Interpret CEM findings and correlate them with other imaging modalities.
  • Apply workflow and safety best practices for efficient implementation of CEM in clinical practice.

Target Audience:

This activity is intended for radiologists, breast imaging fellows, and imaging technologists involved in breast imaging and diagnostic mammography.
