Breast Imaging

This CME program is designed to cover clinical aspects of breast imaging including mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, molecular breast imaging and interventional procedures, as well as medicolegal issues. The faculty consists of nineteen nationally and internationally recognized experts. The program of lectures and panel discussions will be filled with “take home” information that should benefit every breast imaging practice.
Educational Objectives
At the completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
- Discuss ACR BI-RADS 5th Edition terminology for breast imaging findings on mammography, ultrasound and MRI.
- Develop a multimodality approach to screening, staging and clinical problem solving and understand the newest MQSA mandates.
- Develop a systematic approach to the assessment of findings on mammography, ultrasound, and MRI.
- Appreciate the latest technologic developments in digital breast tomosynthesis, automated breast ultrasound and breast MRI.
- Understand the techniques and skills for performance of tomosynthesis, guided breast biopsy.
- Discuss recent screening mammography controversies.
- Reduce their risk of false negative interpretation and malpractice litigation.
Target Audience
This course is designed for radiologists who interpret breast imaging studies and perform breast interventional procedures. Physicians in other specialties involved with the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases, medical physicists, mammography technologists, breast center administrators, and other health care professionals will also benefit from this course.
